They have their own application which is the Poshmark app, I believe one unique about their app is that they are encouraging buyers to follow their sellers and vise versa. Wherein it could help them build good connections and will end up having so many sales in the future.
How Does Poshmark Work?
If you are going to use Poshmark, you have options that you can do on their website or application. You can be one of their sellers and of course, could be a buyer, but you can also do both at the same time where you can earn while doing shopping as well, how cool is that right?
If you will be the buyer, it will make your life easier since the convenience is there, all you need to do is create your free account and fill out some information need for delivery and you also have the option to put in your card as a payment option.
And I found out another interesting thing about the Poshmark app, this is not usual to every marketplace online or in an application in mobile but you can chat with the seller and can even haggle prices directly from them. This is really helpful especially if you are on a tight budget and really want to buy something for yourself or for someone. I know that Craiglist does have the same, but this one is much easier since it is going to be through a live chat with the seller itself.
If you are going to be a seller, it will be the same process by creating your own account and you will have the chance to create your own boutique online. All you need to do first is to establish a good amount of followers to increase the chance of getting a lot of sales, the more followers you have the more people will get to see your products.
But even if creating your account is free, there are still fees to be collected by Poshmark from your sales. Anything that you have on your online store that has a price of less $15 less will have a fee of $2.95 and anything beyond $15 will have a 20% fee. Though for some this is something to think of, however, even if they are collecting fees you still going to have a good platform to sell your products and most important is the shipping label.
I know that for some this may not be that effective especially if you are just starting with a business, you want 100% of the profit will go to your earnings. But don’t worry there are still a lot of ways to earn money online.
Can You Make Money With Poshmark?
Yes, I can say that you can really make money with Poshmark. The things that you need to keep in mind in order to get big sales are the following:
- Aim to get more followers – this will help you get your desired audience and a lot of people will have the chance to view each of your products.
- Make creative pictures – it will be best to take a picture of your product at its best. Most of us are for sure depending on the quality of the product on its picture since this is an online store. The more attractive the picture, the better.
- Know the trends – You must be updated in every trend all over the internet so that people will always look forward to seeing your post and has a big chance of getting a sale.
In this kind of industry, it will not all depend on the platform you are using. You also need to do an extra effort in order to earn a lot from doing this. Passion is always the key and combined it with hard work equals high earning.

For sure you would think that Poshmark is the perfect marketplace that you found so far. However, while doing this review I also found out some things that you need to consider thinking before trying Poshmark. Here are the things that I don’t like about Poshmark.
Poshmark Customer Service
Most of the complaints that Poshmark is getting is about their customer service. Some customers are saying that they won’t be able to get a quick answer if they are having concerns about Poshmark. Since they are an online shop, they should expect that there are circumstances that really happen suddenly and they need to have the quickest response to that in order to maintain their good credibility.
Poshmark fees
Maybe some of you are surprised that they are charging fees for every item that you are selling. They must consider their competitor about this because Craiglist is offering their services without any fees. They are actually more expensive than eBay.
Not BBB accredited
People nowadays are depending on the legitimacy of a company from the ratings and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau. Meaning if one website or company is not on BBB’s website, automatically they are a scam. That is how people think and unfortunately, Poshmark is not accredited by BBB.
What I Like About Poshmark
But of course, there are also things that I like about Poshmark and here they are.
Mobile-friendly
It would be nice that they have a mobile application that can be used by some aspiring entrepreneurs that are just really starting and do not have a laptop or desktop yet. Also, it is convenient especially if you are outside of your house or maybe traveling with family, you can still post pieces of stuff and can still answer some inquiries from your buyers. Or if not a seller, you can shop anywhere and anytime you want.
Free account
They are offering you a free account to use in their marketplace. The signup process is very easy that will just take you 30 secs or a minute, plus you can have the option to create an account using your Facebook account or your Google account. This is very awesome to know because not all are offering this kind of perk.
Is Poshmark a Scam? My Final Thoughts.
After all the review and research that I did with Poshmark, I can say that they are not a scam. Actually I can still recommend this online marketplace to those who are in to do doing online selling.
This is one of the best platforms to market your products and a big chance of getting the goals that you want which is to be a well-known online store. Just have the patience and hard work and for sure it will be all paid off in the end.
