Where Can I Find Content For My Blog? Content Ideas

Last Updated on November 18, 2022

Where Can I Find Content For My Blog? Blogs are one of the best ways to reach out to potential customers and convince them that you’re the best thing compared to anyone else, but finding content is difficult. In fact, one of the most challenging aspects of content marketing is finding content for blogs.

Here are some ideas for creating content for your blog and tips for researching great bloggers to do it for you.

Reddit and Quora communities

Tips On How To Find Content For Your Blog

Use General Forums to Find Ideas for Content

Quora is one of the first places I look for title ideas. It’s a massive forum where people ask questions about anything and everything. Enter the topic of interest to your readers or the name of your industry to begin finding questions that can be turned into content.

Online Communities (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

Social media groups function similarly to niche forums. People talk about their industries, hobbies, and interests. Look for groups that prohibit excessive article sharing. Most of them are spam. Look for industry groups that have a lot of questions and answers.

Popular Industry Publications

Find the sites in your industry that publish the most recent news, trends, tips, and anything else your readers are interested in. Look for articles with the most interaction: comments, shares, views, etc.

You’ll get a sense of what’s popular and what’s trending. Create the content on those topics, attempting to either bring a new perspective or expand on what has already been discussed.

Comment Sections

Comments can be found on industry publication websites. The people who leave comments are your target readers, so pay attention to what they say to get content ideas. Because writers do not and cannot cover every aspect of a subject in a single article, readers will occasionally ask questions. Look for those questions and answer them with your own content.

People You Follow on Social Media

Make a list of potential readers. Typically, this is a list of your best or ideal customers. Follow them and pay attention to the content they interact with. Track what they share, respond to, and so on to see what content ideas you can generate. Those are topics that your content could cover.

People Who Are Following You

A simple social media strategy is to share content that you create (or find) that your target audience will find interesting and valuable. You will gain a following if you do a good job of it.

Even if you only have a few followers, you can ask them questions like, “What is your greatest challenge at work?”

The responses can lead to great content ideas.

hashtag

Hashtags

Your ideal supporters will not always follow you. It’s just the way things are. However, they can still be found by following popular industry hashtags.

Look for popular articles, buzzwords, and questions using hashtags. This could lead to content ideas.

Influencers’ Questions

Determine the industry influencers. Make a Twitter list for them or follow them. Examine how people interact with those influential people. People frequently ask influencers questions, but because influencers are busy, they may not have time to respond to all of them.

This is where you come in and provide the solutions.

Purchasing pre-written articles

Some platforms allow individual writers to sell articles written for specific niches.

However, if you buy pre-written articles, they will not be tailored to your brand’s style. You also run the risk of being one of many buyers.

You also won’t get SEO benefits if you republish content that has already been published elsewhere. In fact, you may face a manual penalty from Google and lose your traffic-driving rankings.

Repurpose your previous content

It never hurts to be fluent in data jargon. Simply dig deep into your analytics to find the content pieces that your audience enjoyed the most.

Concentrate on the number of conversions you’ve received from that piece.

If that isn’t an option, the number of leads generated by the page is a good indicator of where you should focus your efforts. If it has previously worked for a significant portion of your customers, it is worth your time to invest. The original article can then be simply updated or repurposed.

Communicate With Your Readers And Tell Them A Story.

Tell your personal story.

Your team has almost certainly interacted with your industry in some way. When you prioritize your employees in your marketing, you improve your reputation. Your customers will begin to perceive you as people rather than entities

Finally, this translates to trust. And trust is what drives conversions. You can make simple posts soliciting opinions on specific subjects from your team members, or you can offer industry-related resources that you use. Everyone wants insider information.

If you don’t like writing, talk instead.

Not everyone is born to write, and that’s perfectly fine! You can always record and transcribe your thoughts, or create a video or podcast. You can do this on your own or with your team.

Make a list of the topics you want to discuss before you start talking. Having an outline will help you steer the conversation (or monologue) in the right direction. The era of index cards may be over, but having talking points on hand is still useful. However, using speech-to-text to write blog posts poses risks to the quality of your content.

Social Media: Industry Influencers and Topics Discuss

Examine what influencers are saying. Produce similar content. It’s important if it’s good enough for your industry’s influencers.

SlideShare

SlideShare almost has its own category of online content. It’s a hugely popular website with slide decks for just about every industry. Find the most popular decks in your industry by searching for them. Create content that expands on popular topics or presents your unique commentary from there.

Creating a YouTube Channel

Videos on YouTube

YouTube can inspire you in a variety of ways. The best method is to find the most popular videos in your industry, which could be how-to videos, trend content, news videos, or anything else. Then, look for those who have views, comments, and other forms of engagement, and you’ll have a list of topics to focus on with your content.

Instagram Feeds and Comments

I’ve followed online industry influencers, and the comments they receive can lead to content gold. Again, influencers do not have the time to respond to every question. This is where you come in. And, for some reason, Instagram influencers receive a lot of comments.

Conduct an interview

Interviews

Meet interesting people. I believe that everyone has a unique perspective to share on something. It can inspire a post even if they’re telling their own stories about their experiences. So, conduct an interview. Contact them in person, by phone, or by email. Pose a few questions to them.

Take inspiration from the discussion. You could also use the interview as content, but make sure you get permission first.

External Roundups

A roundup can be a great standalone post. Give your customers ten great pieces of content to consume. Furthermore, browsing the content can provide inspiration. You can see what people read and then create your own content based on that.

Internal Roundups

This is similar to the external roundups described above, except you’ll look through your archives to see what you’ve done in specific categories or tags.

Polls

Are you unsure of what your customers require? Inquire about their difficulties. Inquire about three industry challenges they are facing. Inquire about what topics they’d like to learn more about. Don’t go overboard with surveys. Even asking a few customers a question can lead to great content inspiration and ideas.

This is how I make my money online.

Comment Sections on Your Website

In the same way that you can get great ideas from other websites’ comment sections, you can get great ideas from your own. You can create new content if readers ask you questions or tell you what you should have included.

FAQ Sections on Your Website

Many websites have frequently asked questions because they receive repeated inquiries and want to provide answers to visitors and new customers. Examine your FAQ section to see if you can expand on the topics with another type of content, such as a blog post, video, e-book, or guide.

Competitor Websites: Frequently Asked Questions Sections

Examine the FAQ sections of your competitors’ websites. Look at the questions they’re getting all the time, and ensure you answer them with content.

Conference Expert Q&A Sessions

Conferences are fantastic if you can attend them. You not only learn a lot, but you can also use the sessions as content inspiration. You can get ideas from the topics that the experts discuss. Pay close attention to the Q&A and pay attention to what people ask. Can you respond to those questions?

Salespersons

Salespeople, like customer service representatives, are in constant contact with customers and can be an excellent source of content ideas.

They are, after all, on the front lines. Even better, because salespeople work with customers early in the sales process, they are constantly answering common questions. You can use that insight to create great content that will appeal to other potential customers.

Popular Posts on Your Website

To get some content ideas, look at the most popular posts on your site, even if they are a few years old. You can create new content on the same topics or repurpose existing content in different formats, such as videos, podcasts, and more.

Announcements

What events does your company have planned? Big announcements can generate content that your customers will enjoy.

Webinars

Webinars

Webinars have grown in popularity in recent years, but they have been around for a long time. To get content ideas:

  1. Look at popular webinars in your industry.
  2. Examine the influencers as well; they frequently hold webinars.
  3. Follow a few of them to see which ones are the most popular.

The topics discussed could make excellent topics for any content.

Final Thoughts

While your primary goal is to publish more content on your blog, don’t forget about your long-term goals. One of the most advantageous aspects of writing various posts on your website is the opportunity to make meaningful connections with other niches.

As a result, this content will supplement your own website.
