They came up with this idea to have this business when they found out that most of the pet parents need someone to take care of their pets if they are away or out of town. They have been in this kind of business for 9 years now, and that is the reason why people are thinking that they are just a scam.
Their office is located at three different locations, in the Greater Seattle Area, West Coast, and the Western US, and they are planning to expand the services to the nearby cities to give other pet parents the services and care that they need for their pets. This kind of job requires you to have a care of love for pets since the only thing that you need to do is take care of pets. Rovers offer an interesting way for you to earn money and also have quality time with pets at the same time.
And now the question is, how you can get their services? How you can apply for a job with Rover? That is what you are going to find out in the next segments.
How Does Rover Work?
So like what I have mentioned earlier, Rover is offering services like dog walking and pet sitting for those pet parents that need it every time they are out of town or if they need help in taking care of their pets. And the very first thing that you need to do in order to earn money with Rover is to create your account.
Rover does have an age requirement since they are going to treat you as their contractor, so you must be 18 years old and above to successfully set up your account. During the application process, they may ask you for some personal information and the most important information is your zip code. Why? Because as of now Rover is just available in Canada, the United States, Spain, and the United Kingdom. As far as I know, they are considering expanding the business in other countries but still not giving any information about it.
Unlike the other website out there that requires an application or creating of the account, Rover may need to review and verify the information you provided for 5 business days and you don’t need to worry as they are going to get in touch with you for the next process. You still going to have access to your account’s dashboard because that is where you are going to see if your application is approved or not.
Once your account is all set up and approved, pet owners will now able to see your profile and if they are interested in getting your service, they will send an invite that you will see the request on your inbox. After completing the job the payment will be credited right on your account that you can cash out anytime you want.
Can You Make Money With Rover?
This is the big question, how possible it is to earn money with Rover? Actually, there are different ways to earn money with Rover but most of it is about pet sitting, the only difference is each service does have different costs. And here are the services that were offered by Rover:
- Dog Boarding – based on what I read, this is one of their highest-paid services of Rover. And being a pet sitter, this service will require you to stay overnight with the dog at your own house.
- House Sitting – by doing this service, you must be willing to stay at the pet owner’s house overnight. And that is where you are going to take care of the dogs or cats.
- Doggy Day Care – this works like bringing a child to a school. What will happen is the pet owner will drop by at your house in the morning and will just go back in the afternoon or evening to pick up the pet.
- Dog Walking – you are required to have at least 30 minutes walk with the dog, and they suggest that you can just do it in the same vicinity of the owner so you don’t need to spend some money in going too far.
Normally the cost of services starts at $25, it will depend on what services will the owner will get. There are times like holidays or you have been asked to extend your time for doing pet sitting, you can earn extra money for that.
Aside from the services that they offer, you also have the chance to refer a friend or a relative to join Rover. You will be given promo code and your referral can use it as a pet owner looking for services or it can be used as a pet sitter.
The next question is how are they going to pay you? It varies on where country you are located if you are from the United States you can cash out through Paypal and through check but for someone in Canada you can only cash out your money through Paypal.
I know that this kind of job will not work for everyone, especially if you are not fond of pets or having phobia with dogs and cats. But don’t worry there are still a lot of alternative ways to earn money online that you can try.
What I Don’t Like About Rover
If you are going to ask me about what I hate about Rover, the only thing that I see on Rover that I think you should also think of is that this is not for everyone, and it is pretty obvious why. Because let’s be honest, not all of us are pet lovers, right? So basically, if you are not a pet lover or does have a phobia with dogs or cats, you cannot give quality service with the pet owners. That can be a reason why you cannot earn the amount promised which is $25 per service.
The second one is they are not available in other countries which I think they are already working on expanding their services, but information about it was not yet disclosed.
What I Like About Rover.
To be honest, the only thing I like about Rover is the chance of pet lovers to work while being with dogs and cats. It was like working but you will not feel it since you are doing what you like. This work is best for pet lovers. But I believe engaging with the dogs and cats can be learned.
Is Rover a Scam? My Final Verdict.
After all the research that I have for this review for Rover, I can say that Rover is doing good in giving services to the pet owners and by that they are not a scam. Maybe some people think that they are just a scam because of the way they are operating and as well as some complaints that they are receiving. But they really have good pet services to offer to their customers.
