Well, in this MaxBounty review, I am going to introduce you to this affiliate network by telling you what it is all about, how it works, and most importantly, if it really lives up to its claims that they are the leading CPA affiliate marketing.

MaxBounty is a cost-per-action (CPA) affiliate marketing network in which industries who wish to advertise their products are searching for affiliates that are willing to promote these for them.
What makes a cost-per-action affiliate marketing company different from the usual affiliate marketing programs like Wealthy Affiliate?
A cost-per-action affiliate marketing company only pays an affiliate once they have completed a certain task the company requires and once they have generated traffic to the website of the advertiser.
An affiliate program like Wealthy Affiliate, on the other hand, teaches you the basics of creating a website that will bring in good conversion rates and how to be an effective affiliate.
MaxBounty was founded back in 2004 by brothers JP & Steve Sauve. They are based and currently actively operating in Ontario, Canada, and ever since 15 years ago, they have been building a fantastic reputation to be claimed as one of the leading CPA affiliate marketing companies.
Is MaxBounty a scam? We first have to know how this works.
How Does MaxBounty Work?
MaxBounty functions like a mediator between the advertiser and you, the affiliate. MaxBounty consolidates advertisers which are open to accepting affiliates that will promote their products and services for them.
Depending on the category of the content on your website, you can choose from different categories of the products or services you want to promote.
MaxBounty works like most cost-per-action affiliate programs. A CPA will only give you your commission once you have generated traffic to the advertiser’s website and when people from this traffic have completed a certain task.
The most common tasks companies require is filling out a form on their website, and signing up for their offers.
Another difference between a CPA and a regular affiliate program like Wealthy Affiliate is that it is not passive. With programs like Wealthy Affiliate, you can just dump your own custom affiliate link on your website or social media account and get your commission once people sign up under your name.
With MaxBounty, you are required to hustle. Every action of yours has a cost. Plus, take note, the alternative name for a cost per action is a performance-based marketing. So, everything is based on how well you perform.
If you are the type to do your best and work hard at everything you do, you can earn a decent amount of income with MaxBounty. Getting started with MaxBounty won’t cost you a cent because you can join for free! You will also receive training for free. How cool is that? Some affiliate programs are also free but they have secret upsells as you progress in your ventures. MaxBounty does not have upsells, either. Everything is completely free.
From what I have just started, you might think MaxBounty must be too good to be true, right? Well, it might be for some.
MaxBounty, unlike other affiliate marketing networks, has strict standards for its affiliates. This means that not everyone can just be an affiliate. You would first have to be approved, and for you to be approved, these are some prerequisites you must have on hand before signing up for MaxBounty.
- Most importantly, you need an up and running website. It’s not just that, your website must also be generating good traffic. You must have a significant amount of content with good quality.
- Take note that even though they accept affiliates despite your area of residency, some advertisers want traffic that comes from a particular geographical region. Take for example from the UK or Canada. This implies that your traffic should be coming from a specific geographical area depending on the needs of the company.
- MaxBounty also takes into account how you intend to promote the products or services of the company. State whether you will be promoting through social media, a blog, or even email marketing.
- MaxBounty has categorized all the industries that are open to affiliates. You can choose to promote companies that are in the same industry as your website. This increases the chances of your application being approved.
- Of course, you must not be involved in scams or other suspicious activities.
When you are one of the lucky ones to be approved and be an affiliate, you will receive training materials for free! Training materials shall be in the form of videos. In this free training, you will be taught all the ropes of affiliate marketing.
It is not stated clearly if the training will include anything about creating a website and how to generate good traffic for great conversion rates, but .since these are some of the requirements for you to become an affiliate, I doubt it.

Getting Paid by MaxBounty
Each lead or certain action carried out equates to cash earned. MaxBounty can pay you for as low as $1 to a whopping $80 per lead. The amount you can earn depends on the industry campaign name it belongs.
You won’t be running out of options of companies you want to promote. MaxBounty has it all from car loans to travel programs.
Over the course of being a MaxBounty affiliate, once you have gathered enough commissions specifically $100, you are able to cash out the amount you have in your account.
MaxBounty pays you in a variety of methods. They can pay you via PayPal, Payoneer, eCheck, Intercash, Wire or ACH via Direct Deposit. When you are still new, you can receive your payment on a net 15 basis meaning that you will be paid on the 15th of whatever month. As you progress, you will get paid weekly.

MaxBounty Ugly Truths Exposed
High Pay Out Threshold
Before you can cash out your affiliate earnings, you would first have to reach a cash out threshold of $100. This is a big amount to reach for an affiliate program, especially if your website does not really have massive amounts of traffic. This will take a long time before you can enjoy the reapings of what you have planted.
Inaccurate Statistics
Affiliates have reported that MaxBounty is not really showing the right and accurate amount of clicks your website has generated. One reported he has generated 411 clicks, but the dashboard on his account only states that he only generated 221 clicks. This is a huge rip-off. Of course, with less traffic, the less your conversions will be, too.
Account Termination
One affiliate complained that days before he was meant to receive his commissions, MaxBounty terminated his account. They did this without informing him in advance or telling him the reason why they did such an act.
Not Paying on Time
Even if MaxBounty attempts to take away this affiliate’s account from him, they should have at least compensated this affiliate by giving him what he has earned with all his hard work. But then again, wouldn’t it actually be the perfect opportunity for MaxBounty to keep this money?
This seems like a sneaky attempt to keep the money you made for themselves. For some suspicious reason, it kind of makes senses that everything from sign up to training is free.
It Is Not BBB Accredited
Just because it is not BBB accredited, doesn’t mean that it is automatically a scam. What I just don’t get is how they are not BBB accredited but they have a BBB rating of A+ which just doesn’t make any sense. The good news is, seeing their complaints, they actually only have one over the course of 3 years.
Be Careful
MaxBounty can suspend your account when they suspect that traffic coming from your website is not organic traffic and a bit suspicious.
Hard to Become a Member
Before you can become a MaxBounty affiliate, there a lot of prerequisites you need to have on hand and these requirements can be very strict.
If you are new to this niche, you may want to consider signing up for Wealthy Affiliate. With Wealthy Affiliate, you will be taught how to create your own website and how to generate organic traffic.
This is understandable, though. This way, they are able to filter out the best affiliates for the advertisers.
Rude Customer Service
One affiliate complained about how rude and unprofessional their customer service is. Of course, if their job is to help customers, why should they be rude? This will piss anyone off.
Poor Ratings
MaxBounty rated 3 stars on TrustPilot, indicating that it is on average. When you look at the reviews, you will see that 59% of customers are pissed off and rated them bad. Only 38% rated them excellent.

You can choose to get paid however you want. Whether you want to receive your money through PayPal or through an actual check, it’s really just all up to you.

You won’t be burdened in getting started with MaxBounty since it is free to sign up. Plus, training materials is free for you to benefit from. Of course, you won’t have to worry about any upsells.
Don’t forget that you can only take advantage of these once you are accepted into the network!
My Final Thoughts! Is MaxBounty a Scam?
MaxBounty has come along ever since 2004 and it has not been reported that it is indeed a scam. However, I have concluded that MaxBounty is a scam.
It is such a low blow how they shave off what the affiliates have generated with their hard work. Plus, the attempt to terminate accounts when these are earning tons of money and not paying the affiliates the commissions they worked for is such a suspicious act and makes me believe that they are only keeping this amount to themselves.
