What is Dosh?
First, let us know what a cashback is. You can see a detailed discussion about cashback on your own with the help of Wikipedia, or if you don’t want to, I’ll explain it to you briefly.
Basically, a cashback is when you can receive a percentage of money when you are shopping on certain participating merchants that participate in this program. You are not receiving coupons or discounts, you will be receiving legit cash.
Dosh is one of those. Dosh is a cashback app wherein you will be given cash for every time you shop at particular retailers and stores with the card you linked to your very own Dosh account.
This is relatively new in this market since it has been founded by Ryan Wuerch and Ed Mock back in 2016. Ever since then, it has been paving its own way in this niche and has already paid out at least $25 million to 3 million users.
Dosh Holdings Inc. has been accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an A- rating.
Shout out to those who reside within the United States, because this cashback app is only available for you! For those who don’t, don’t you worry! Since Dosh is continually succeeding in this market, they has the hopes of expanding to other countries in the near future.
How Does Dosh Work?
To answer the question ‘Is Dosh App legit?’, we first have to understand how Dosh works.
Signing Up With Dosh
Before you can sign up with Dosh, you will first have to download the app on The App Store or on Play Store. Plus, the app is free to download, so you really have not much to lose! Once you download the app, you can set up your account.
You’d be welcomed with a $5 sign up bonus when you have downloaded the app and linked a card to your account. Also, you are not just limited to one card at a time. For every additional card, you link, you will earn an extra $1.

Take note that you would have to indicate your credit card or debit card number so that you can automatically earn your cashback every time you purchase with it on participating stores and retailers.
This is actually what makes Dosh so ahead of its competitors. Other cashback apps would you have do all sorts of things prior to earning your cashback. That just takes the joy out of earning free money.
Dosh, on the other hand, will just deposit money to your account and that’s it. No promo codes, no scanning of receipts, no coupons, and you don’t even have to log in to the app before you shop.
Just shop at a participating merchant with your linked credit or debit card, and expect the cash to be deposited to your account every time without even having to do anything.
If you have trust issues with these kinds of things, I understand. There are a lot of scams out there that sell your information to third parties.
Don’t worry! Dosh is completely safe. Later on, I will discuss in detail why I think it is safe to use.
Dosh Participating Stores

You’d be surprised by the wide array of various stores that offer cashback services. There are restaurants, pizzerias, and bars that offer 1% – 5% cashback.
Some popular stores that support Dosh are Nike with a 4.5% cashback rate, Walmart with 6%, Target as well with a cashback rate of 1.25%. Even gas stations and other convenience stores provide cashback.
Hotels also offer cashback. So, if you are the type to stay at hotels pretty often, you will find the extra cash worth it with Dosh.
If you didn’t know, cash backs at hotels are mostly over a hundred dollars! Plus, for your first hotel booking, you will earn $25. Say what?
It’s all a roller coaster of free money!
Dosh Referral Program
One of the many ways of earning money through Dosh is through their referral program. You don’t even have to do anything to join the referral program.
You are automatically eligible to share the wonders of using the Dosh app to your family and friends the moment you started using it. So, how does this work?
You will first be given your own unique referral link, then send it to everyone you know. Clicking on the referral link will deliver them to the Dosh app download page on App Store or Play Store where they will be prompted to install the app.
Once they have installed the app, they will be instructed to input their basic information and to link their card to their accounts. You will be given a $5 bonus for each referral of yours that links their credit card or debit card to the app.
Oftentimes, Dosh holds promotions wherein the referral bonus will be $10 or $15. Well, sign me up, too!

But that’s not all, though.
Do you want to earn more money? And I ain’t talking about 2 digit matters, I am talking A LOT of money. Well, good news! You are not just given the option to refer your friends and family but businesses, as well.
For two years, you will get 20% of the business’ Dosh fees. Depending on the gravity of the business, this amount of money can even equate to a full-time job’s income.
Security Features
If you think that giving your credit or debit card information away to Dosh is a mistake, I will change your mind on that. In fact, they have not just one, but four security features!
The first security feature of Dosh is its SSL Encryption. Okay, SSL what? This basically just means that your information remains protected since the data being passed on between their web servers are kept private.
Next, their Data Safeguards. Dosh swears to not store any of your credit or banking information. A Paypal service called Braintree is the one doing all the work of tokenizing and vaulting your credit card information.
Third, Dosh Holdings Inc. makes money not by selling your information to third party users unlike most apps in this market. So, how do they make money, you ask?
For merchants to continuously be on their app, they would have to pay a fee. This is their only source of cash flow, and not by selling your information.
In return for your usage of the app, they take a percentage out of their earnings and give it back to you in the form of a cashback. You guys shouldn’t have but I’ll take it!
Oh, you think that’s the last of it? Nope!
They also have multi-factor authentication. This ensures that no one can snoop inside your account and unauthorized access is not granted.
Dosh Wallet
Every time you are credited for shopping at a qualified store with the use of your card, the money will be added to your Dosh Wallet. You can find this feature on the upper right of the app. Here, you are able to see your current balance.
Source: Dosh Wallet
The money you accumulated with your Dosh Wallet can be directly deposited to your Paypal, Venmo, or your bank account within several business days. However, you first need to reach cash out threshold of $25.
It may seem like it is hard to achieve, but if you like to shop, this amount is fairly easy to reach. Plus, there are loads of participating merchants be it gas stations or restaurants.
If you have lots of friends that may be interested in using Dosh, you’ll reach that threshold in no time!
However, Dosh has stated that even if you reach that $25 minimum, you are required to get a cashback from a Dosh supporting merchant at least once for you to cash out.
Plus, you can also share your earnings to those in need by donating it to charity.
What Sucks About Dosh
After reading the cool features of Dosh, this section will really get you asking the question ‘Is Dosh App legit?’.
Not so Great Customer Service
Other review sites will tell you how Dosh has great customer service, but I am here to tell you otherwise. They will go on indicating that all you have to do if you think that your cashback is taking way too long to reach your account is to submit a ticket to Dosh Holdings Inc.
If you would take a look at their customer complaints summary on BBB, there are a lot of customers ranting on about not receiving their cash back even if they have submitted a ticket. To make things more complicated, they do not have any direct customer service.
What Makes Dosh a Cool App?
Really Secured
There is no room for you to be anxious because your information is stored inside a vault that is guarded by a giant 4-headed dog. Okay, I’m sorry. What I meant is your information is safe and secure with their 4 layers of data privacy and protection. Swiper will not be caught swiping anytime soon.
Lots of Options
There are loads of merchants offering cashback that participates with Dosh’s services. Be it restaurants, hotels, gas stations, clothing, and many more, you will not run out of options.
Also, if you live in the city where there are nearby partner businesses, your every purchase might just be an opportunity to receive a cashback!
Roller Coaster of Money
You can earn money through cash backs, that’s a just start though. You have other ways of earning money other than cash backs. In fact, just signing up and linking your credit card gives you $5.
You are also given the option to share Dosh to your friends and family so that they can reap the benefits while you also earn money.
Plus, if you aim at earning big time, add referring businesses to Dosh to your to-do list.
Easy to Install and Use
All you have to do to benefit from Dosh’s services is to download their app, input your banking information, and you’re all set! Plus, if you think using Dosh couldn’t get any easier, they have also designed it to be a ‘set it and forget it’ system.
What do I mean by this? Once you have linked your credit or debit card to your Dosh account, whenever you make purchases with it, the cashback will automatically be added to your Dosh Wallet. You don’t even need to scavenge for promo codes and discounts.
My Final Thoughts! Is Dosh App Legit?
Yes, Dosh is legit. If you are a heavy shopper, you may find Dosh worth some space on your phone. The app is free to install and use. What’s better than using their services for free is actually earning cold and hard cash.
To earn cash, you have a lot of options to choose from. From cash backs, sign up bonuses, and their referral program, you will not run out of sources of cash flow.
Their security features are top of the line with their 4-layered unbreakable wall of data privacy and protection. You don’t have to worry about snoopy eyes!
To top all of that, you don’t have to go through a hole of a needle to receive your cashback. Just by linking your credit card, with every purchase, your cashback will be directly deposited to your Dosh Wallet.
However, it may take a lot of time to receive your cashback and their customer service is crap. Also, what’s better than earning cash backs is actually making money online!
If you are looking for a real make money online opportunity, check out my number 1 recommendation!
Just keep one thing in mind, this won’t happen overnight! But if you are a type of fella that can follow a blueprint, if you are willing to take action, then you can turn your passion into a thriving online business.
