Is Canva Pro Worth It For Bloggers? Canva Pro Review

Is Canva Pro Worth It For Bloggers? Canva is a must-have tool for bloggers, digital marketers, and content creators. Canva’s free tier makes it a no-brainer to try out and makes stunning graphic designs simple enough for anyone to create. Canva is by far the most used digital tool and software in my personal arsenal. It is also my go-to recommendation for any content creator who is sick of paying exorbitant fees to freelancers for blog banners, infographics, charts, social media content, or website designs.

While Canva’s free tier has a lot to offer, some Canva Pro features are game changers for bloggers and content creators. Depending on your specific use case, these features can literally save you hundreds or even thousands of hours per month. I can’t think of another tool I use that offers so much at such a low cost (or even free)!

This article will evaluate the value of Canva Pro compared to the free version and highlight the unique features that Canva Pro offers compared to the free version.

While Canva Pro is an obvious choice for many, I understand that some content creators have minimal budgets or may only use one or two of the additional tools available in Canva Pro. As a result, this review will concentrate on the features that Canva Pro users receive in comparison to the free version. In some cases, Canva’s free version is more than enough.

THE BEST WAY TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE IN 2022

Is Canva Pro Worth It For Bloggers?

Canva Pro is really worth it if you need access to 100+ million premium stock photos, premium 610,000+ templates, 25K audio tracks, videos, and graphic elements, 3000+ fonts, 100 GB storage, unlimited folders to organize your designs, and advanced time-saving features.

What is Canva?

Canva is a well-known online graphic design tool that makes it simple to create high-quality images and materials. Canva is used by millions of people to make social media images, posters, digital invitations, presentations, and physical materials such as brochures and business cards.

Canva, unlike high-powered tools like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, has a low barrier to entry due to its simple and intuitive interface. It can be accessed via the web or as a mobile app for Android and iOS.

Canva has several pricing plans for individual users, each with a different level of functionality:

Free: This provides the majority of the functionality required to create simple designs.

Pro plan: includes more templates, graphics, fonts, and photos. Users can also save transparent PNGs, make custom templates, and upload their own fonts. There is also an enterprise plan, but for the purposes of this review, I will concentrate on the two primary options, Canva Free vs. Canva Pro.

Canva Pro Review: Features

Let’s go over some of the key benefits of upgrading to the Canva Pro plan!

Unrestricted access to folders

Canva’s free plan allows you to organize your designs into folders. Canva Pro includes unlimited folders, allowing you to organize your designs in a variety of ways.

Unlimited asset and photo storage

Compared to the regular plan’s 1 GB of storage, you can get unlimited storage for all your assets, photos, and designs.

Access to over 4 million photos and elements

Canva Pro gives you access to millions of photos, elements, and templates, which is AMAZING! When using the free version, you are more restricted in what you can do.

You can resize your images in Canva Pro.

This is one of my favorite features. You can magically resize your images to a variety of different sizes.

When it comes to social media graphics and other types of graphics, they all come in different sizes.

Create a design to share your most recent blog post on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram Stories. You can quickly resize your designs to fit all of these dimensions with a button.

Canva Pro has a much larger selection of fonts.

Canva Pro gives you access to various additional beautiful fonts for use in your designs. As a font geek, seeing all the new fonts, I could use was a dream come true! I want my featured image graphics to stand out, and having more options to choose from instead of the basic free Canva fonts makes it so much easier.

You can include your own fonts.

Again, I’m a font nerd! With this plan, you can also upload your own fonts. If a particular font you use throughout your website is unavailable on Canva, you can upload it and begin using it.

GIF

Canva Pro enables you to make animations and GIFs.

Another cool feature is the ability to make animated GIFs and animations. These are ideal for Instagram or even Pinterest now that video pins are permitted!

It is possible to create designs with transparent backgrounds.

Finally, Canva Pro enables you to create designs with transparent backgrounds. This means that the white background will not be visible no matter what photo you upload. The image can then be used anywhere on your website or with a different background.

This gives you much more freedom in terms of what you can do with your designs.

Should You Upgrade? Is Canva Pro Worth It For Bloggers?

If you’re on the fence about upgrading to Canva Pro, it’s time to take a stand!

When asked whether you should upgrade, my response will always be a resounding YES. It is completely worthwhile.

I’ve never seen another design tool like Canva Pro, nor have I seen one with this many features for such a low price. I’m proficient in Photoshop, but I prefer to design things in Canva most of the time. The user interface is straightforward and simple to use, and having access to millions of stock photos and assets makes the investment well worth it.

Photoshop vs. Canva

Photoshop is one of the most powerful photo editing programs ever devised. Photoshop has few restrictions on how you can edit an image. It also has a plethora of brushes, textures, and effects that can completely transform a photograph. It is not technically a graphic design tool but can be used to create graphics.

Photoshop is different from Canva because it does not come with pre-existing templates; you must be a designer/artist to use it, and it has a very steep learning curve.

Illustrator vs. Canva

The primary distinction between Canva and Illustrator is that, whereas Canva is primarily used for flat image formats (PNG and JPEG), Illustrator can also be used for vector formats. Illustrator is a sophisticated program for creating high-quality, scalable graphics and complex layouts that can be printed at large scales.

Because those with a moderate design background primarily use it, it, like Photoshop, does not provide prebuilt templates, and designs must be created from scratch on a blank artwork.

Frequently Asked Questions About Canva

What are the drawbacks of Canva?

Canva, unlike Adobe products, has fewer customizations and advanced design capabilities. You cannot, for example, upload a RAW image for photo editing. In comparison, the image editing features are straightforward. You can’t easily copy one design to another. You also cannot create your own distinct elements to use in your designs.

Is it worthwhile to subscribe to Canva?

If you’ve read this far and are still trying to convince yourself, it’s worth the annual investment. What else can I say? It saves time for bloggers, solopreneurs, and small business owners, and anyone can easily learn how to use it to create stunning designs, videos, and more. It’s my most frequently used blogging tool, and I use it several times per day.

Is Canva truly free?

Canva’s free version is ideal for beginners who want to learn how to use it. The free version allows you to do a lot, but it has limitations that limit your productivity. The Pro version unlocks many fantastic features that will help you speed up your design work and give you much more power to create a wide range of content. You can even sell the templates!

Final Thoughts

Canva Pro is an incredible design tool that has assisted me in creating beautiful designs for my blog and social media platforms.

First and foremost, I advise every blogger to use Canva, at the very least, for their website and social media graphics (we know we always need a ton of them).

The question now is whether Canva Pro is worthwhile. We previously discussed limited budgets and time.

These have definitely proven to be true for me, particularly in terms of saving time. I can easily use Photoshop and Illustrator, but I prefer Canva because it is much more convenient.

In a nutshell, if you only want to create a few designs on occasion, Canva Free will suffice.

If you’re a photographer, artist, or graphic designer, you already know that Canva is less powerful than Adobe Creative Suite.

However, if your company requires a large number of high-quality designs quickly, such as for content promotion, Canva Pro is well worth the investment.
