Tips And Proven Ways How To Increase Amazon Affiliate Sales

Amazon has grown to unprecedented proportions, and its sales have crossed all boundaries. Although it does not advertise its services on television or billboards, a large portion of the advertising is done by affiliate websites that profit from successful conversions. With that in mind, there are proven ways on how to increase Amazon affiliate sales.

While the commission percentage on each sale varies by category, most affiliate websites make a good living by advertising a specific product category. Here are the top ways to increase your Amazon affiliate sales through intelligent marketing strategies:

How To Increase Amazon Affiliate Sales?

Provide Real and Accurate Reviews

Keep in mind that not all products are excellent, so keep this in mind when writing your reviews. You should state when a product has flaws or appears inferior or cheap. It improves credibility and trust.

One of the best ways to accomplish this is to include a "Pros and Cons" section for each product. You can explain the missing features or the shortcomings of a particular product.

Product review

Writing negative things about a product you hope prospective buyers will eventually buy is counterintuitive. However, most of the time, honesty about the product will outweigh the negative qualities.

Providing an accurate description and letting visitors decide what is best for them is better. When a review site claims that all of the products are fantastic and recommends them, this is a red flag. It appears unbelievable and reduces the credibility of your website.

Use Amazon Associates International Programs

There are 14 Amazon storefronts worldwide, with 12 offerings and an Amazon Associates program.

In most cases, your website will receive international traffic, and getting those visitors to the correct Amazon store is simple. You'll be generally interested in 7 storefronts, while the other 5 Amazon Associates programs have quirks.

Here are the 7 countries:

Use Amazon Associates International Programs
  • United States

  • Italy

  • France

  • Germany

  • Spain

  • United Kingdom

  • Canada

China, Japan, India, Brazil, and Mexico have regulations and restrictions that make it more challenging to set up, such as the requirement that you have a bank account in the respective country. That's prohibitively expensive unless your site receives traffic from those countries, so let's focus on the rest.

Amazon Australia and the Netherlands are the only digital stores with no affiliate marketing related programs. Examine your Google Analytics traffic to see how many international visitors visit your site.

Using Genius Link to handle international visitors easily and direct them to the appropriate Amazon Storefront based on their location is a no-brainer.

Try to experiment with different CTAs

People are drawn to various sections of a website. It could be because of the site's design, theme, color scheme, niche, or anything else.

Experimenting with different ways to entice visitors to visit Amazon is worthwhile. Buttons are visually appealing and can stand out on a website using contrasting or bright colors.

A prospective buyer wants to see the actual product to imagine owning it. Take advantage of this desire by including a link to Amazon on the product image.

Amazon Associate Call to action

You should also try a text version with a different color and a larger font size.

Make use of Comparison Tables.

Tables are an excellent way to present detailed information in a concise and limited space. In other words, tables are the best way to compare products and are ideal for providing a buying guide.

There is no better place to learn about conversions than on Amazon. Check out their GoPro Hero comparison table.

Go Pro Amazon

Check out Amazon's product pages and the manufacturer's website for ideas on what to put on your tables. They will usually have well-planned comparison tables.

I've combined data to create tables that outperform both Amazon's and the manufacturers. Be original, and don't be afraid to make your comparisons.

Recommend Related Items

Another idea we can get from Amazon is what other products customers browse and buy. You can mention and link to related products on your product review pages.

Sometimes it's obvious, like microSD cards for a GoPro, but there are usually many related products, and Amazon is the best place to get ideas. They've done all the legwork for you, making it simple to research.

Amazon is the king of conversions and upsells, but there's no reason you can't use their market research to develop content for your website.

Include Product Videos

People want to see how the products look, and there is no better way than with video. Most YouTube videos, thankfully, can be embedded on other websites. This is because the default setting allows embedding for each video uploaded to YouTube.

To disable embedding, a user must manually change the video settings. This makes it extremely simple to incorporate videos into your content.

Make Use of High-Quality Header Images

Make Use Of High-Quality Header Images

High-quality images and graphics are standard on the best websites. Furthermore, websites with low credibility and poor reviews usually do not have appealing photos.

You will be placed in the high-quality tier if your website contains high-quality images.

It's an even better way to stand out if you can take photos. Your site will have images no one else has, solidifying its position as a credible review site.

Don’t provide too many options.

Having too many options can be stressful at times. In fact, one of the reasons a person might end up on your Amazon Affiliate niche site where you review products is because of this.

Your website acts as a filter for visitors, allowing them to decide what to buy from Amazon. As a result, it may be prudent to provide only a few options for a given product type.

This is how I make my money online.

Link to Amazon Product Review Pages

One of the reasons Amazon has overgrown as a retailer is because of genuine user reviews. People are still very interested in hearing from product owners who are the most qualified to provide honest product reviews.

As a result, you can link to Amazon's reviews page. Direct people to the product's review page. The real secret is to include a text link that says:

Click here to see reviews on Amazon

If someone is considering purchasing a product, they will want to read actual owner reviews on Amazon.

Conduct A/B Testing

As previously stated, testing strategies are the best practice because different niches react differently. In fact, conversion rates within the same niche can vary depending on unrelated factors such as traffic sources.

As a result, it's best to test one variable at a time, such as:

  • Text links versus button links
  • Image versus text links
  • Different text and calls-to-action
  • Tables versus unordered lists

A/B testing is moderately expensive because most sites that conduct such testing have many visitors, i.e., corporations. It also takes some time to complete. For example, it took about two weeks to test one variation for a page that receives nearly 2,000 visitors per day on one of my sites.

If you get enough traffic, running A/B tests to see what converts best is worth it.

Make sure to curate deals

There are major websites out there, such as Dealnews.com, that spread the internet for discounts and deals and list them for their readers to see. Most of the time, they are affiliates of those websites, so when people buy, they also profit.

So you can do your version of the same thing by visiting Amazon weekly or monthly and looking for products that fit your niche that are being sold at a discount.

You can even have a dedicated "deals" page on your website in your navigation menu to make it easy for visitors to find.

Additionally, send a regular deal alert email using an auto-responder service to ensure that the people on your list become accustomed to returning to your site regularly to find the best deals on products they're interested in.

Don’t forget the cheap deals.

While most people focus on higher-priced items, it's essential not to overlook the low-priced items that people purchase.

True, Amazon recently changed its commission structure. Instead of being based on the number of items sold, your commission rate is now based on the category of the item sold. This can make selling small items more appealing.

When you think about it, most big competitors are aimed at people who buy expensive items such as electronics, appliances, etc.

While the individual commission on a $6 product isn't much, selling a few hundred $4 - $10 products monthly in addition to the big money items increases your overall commission.

With low-cost products, there are frequently specific keywords to find. One product may only pay you 30 cents, but if you sell 400 of them monthly and find hundreds of keywords like that, you can earn some serious affiliate commissions.

So make sure you have a good mix of low and high-priced products to maximize both volume and commissions.

Final Thoughts

Overall, hopefully, some of these tips will help you increase your Amazon affiliate commissions. These minor strategies can help you send the most significant number of people to Amazon.

Because Amazon has such high brand awareness and trust, you can simply direct people to the Amazon page and let Amazon handle the rest.
