What is Amway Corporation?
Amway Corporation is a multi-level marketing company that offers different varieties of products. Some of their product categories are Nutrition, Beauty, Jewelry, Home Care, and Fragrances. They have been in this industry for more than 50 years now, and based on some research, Amway was able to help more than 3 million independent business owners to have their business up and running and leads to a successful one. And they claim that they were able to help other entrepreneurs because of the large variety of products that they can offer to the customers.
Who are the Amway Founders?
Amway Corporation was founded by long-time best friends Jay Van Andel and Rich DeVos, who were also business partners, in 1959. Meaning the company has been operating for so long now. But before Jay and Rich decided to establish Amway Corporation, they first started by marketing nutrition products from an MLM company named Nutrilite.
From there, they became the top-selling distributors of Nutrilite, and after having more than four thousand distributors under their team, Rich and Jay decided to leave Nutrilite, and now they have their own successful multi-level marketing company, which is Amway Corporation.
Where is the Amway Headquarters?
Amway corporations headquarter is located in Ada, Michigan, and they officially named it the Amway Center came of the founders’ decision now. They are operating in more than 100 countries around the globe.
How Does Amway Work?
Amway Corporation works like the usual multi-level marketing company, it works by doing direct selling of their products.
The Amway business model
Their business model will all be based on selling their products, wherein you can get a commission. This is normal for every multi-level marketing company out there. If you just want to enjoy and try the products of Amway, you can be just a normal customer by purchasing products, but if you are someone looking for business opportunities, then you must be one of their distributors by selling their products.
The first thing that you need to do is to sign up and register as an Independent Business Owner or what they called IBO and the total cost to start will depend on what Business Kit you will choose to start. Here are the two different kits that Amway offers:
- IBO Literature Kit – this cost $62 that includes step-by-step training to help you start with the business with Amway Corporation, and together with that training are brochures as well as the detailed information about the company’s incentives and bonuses.
- IBO Product Kit – this cost $83.99 that includes everything in the first kit but you will have an additional of $150 worth of products from Amway that you can use right away to earn.
Then you can start from there but I know that all of the companies out there promise to give you good business opportunities there are still people who never make any money after joining the company. Don’t lose hope, there are still a lot of ways to earn money online.
How Much Can You Make With Amway MLM?
Now let’s go to the most exciting part of every review that we have, I know that you are so curious about how much you can earn if you are a member of Amway Corporation. There are some who say that you can earn around $200 a month by doing business with Amway Corporation.
The Amway Compensation Plan.
Amway’s compensation plan works the same way as the other multi-level marketing company out there. They also offer various incentives and bonuses that you can take advantage of as a member. Amway is also known for having a good compensation plan, basically, it works the usual MLM company you can do direct-selling of the products, recruit more members to join the company and be eligible for some commissions and bonuses that they have. Some of their bonuses are:

Is it worth being an Amway Distributor?
If you will ask me about being a distributor of Amway Corporation, this is just basing on what I read online as I do this review since I am not an official distributor of Amway. I can say that somehow it is worth it, it is given in every multi-level marketing company that you need to invest at first and the rest will follow but will depend on how hard-working you are.
If you are someone that is good at selling and promoting products this is for you, this is something that is easy for you to so especially if you have been with other multi-level marketing company with the same niche as Amway Corporation offers. But for newbies or someone who is new in this kind of business, it may be a roller coaster ride for you at first since you are not that familiar with the products or how the business works.
But again, everything will depend on how committed and dedicated you are to do the work in order for you to earn.
What about the Amway partner stores?
Amway partner stores are letting the distributors earn points by doing shopping on that specific store. As an official American Way distributor, you have the chance to get discounts and special offers from partner stores. This is one of the perks of being a distributor. There are more than 50 stores that partnered with “American Way” to support you with your business.
Is Amway a pyramid scheme?
I know it is a bit early to say but for me, Amway Corporation is not a pyramid scheme. They have been in this industry for a long time now and they really have the products to offer to their customers. Maybe people think that they are just a pyramid scheme because doing business with an MLM company will depend if this will work for you or not, and if this will not work to you then right away you will think that you were scammed or you joined a pyramid scheme right? But Amway has proven its legitimacy by providing good products and easy to understand the compensation plan.
What Does Amway sell?
American Way Corporation is a multi-level marketing company that sells different varieties of products. I am sure you want to know what do they sell. Like what I have mentioned earlier, they have different categories for its products and here they are:
- Nutrition – they have vitamins and supplements, for weight management and energy drinks.
- Beauty – they have different skincare, cosmetics and more.
- Body Care – body care like soaps and bath and body wash.
- Home Care – they have dishwashing detergent, cookware and anything you need for your laundry.
- Jewelry and Accessories – they have bracelets, necklaces, and gift sets.
Amway Vitamins
One of the product categories that they have is Nutrition, and vitamins are one of the products that they have under these categories. One of the vitamins that they offer is the Amway Nutrilite which is you can use this as your everyday vitamins. This vitamin tablet contains 11 minerals and 13 vitamins that are needed for having a healthy living.
Amway Water Filter
Not all of us are aware that Amway sells water filter or purifier and they called it Amway eSpring. This water purifier has activated charcoal that is good in removing taste and odors from the water. It also helps to trap bacteria and parasites which will make your water purified and safe to drink. It claims to remove over 99.9% of bacteria, viruses and protozoan parasites. However, there are some reviews about this water purifier that it is expensive for a water purifier.
Amway credit card
Maybe you are surprised that Amway has its credit card. This credit card can also be used every time you purchase in the American Way partner store to get net purchases and rewards. But like the usual credit card, it has 0% financing on purchases for one year and no annual fee. This Amway credit card is from Bank of America. Once you have this you will get 1.8% point value and 3% business volume for each dollar of qualifying net purchases at Amway.
What I Don’t Like About Amway
After all the information that we fund out about Amway Corporation, here are the things that I know you should know about Amway so you will be aware if you have plans to join.
Amway Customer Service
There some complaints about the experience that they have with Amway’s customer service or support. It seems that not all the representatives are willing to help resolve the problem of their members or customers. This plays a big impact on their business as we all know that some of us rely on customer service representatives as a quick solution for any issue.
Amway product reviews
What I also noticed is that there are some complaints about their products. Some are saying that it is not that effective to them, however, I know that not all vitamins and supplements can be effective to all of us, it can still depend on the type of body that you have. If your body will easily adapt it or not.
Recruiting.
I know that this is just another way for you to earn money with Amway Corporation and this is also normal in multi-level marketing companies. However, if you are someone who is not used in doing recruiting or referring this is not for you. This way of earning is really hard especially if you don’t have the idea about what you need to do first.
The hard part of doing recruiting is the way you should think about how you can convince someone to join the company, this may require you to try the products of Amway in order to testify it successfully, and you need to spend another dollar by doing that. That is why I am really not into recruiting.
What I Like About Amway
There are also things that you can look forward to Amway Corporation. These are the things that I like about Amway.
Well-established company
There are a lot of Amway reviews out there that say negativity about the company but they cannot remove the fact that Amway Corporation has been in this industry for more than 50 years now which is a big prove that they have legit process and products. There are companies that have been shut down earlier because of its monkey business, this shows that Amway is still going and still strong because they really have something to offer to their customers.
Amway BBB ratings.
The Better Business Bureau ratings play a big role in every decision you will have. Being accredited by BBB is something that you, as a customer, are looking at first before trying the company. And Amway Corporation has been accredited by the Better Business Bureau since 1991, almost 30 years now. This is one of the longest accredited companies I can see on the BBB page, to be honest. Not just that, but they also have A+ ratings on the BBB page, which is very impressive.
They have top-notch training materials for their distributors.
Amway Corporation offers a lot of training programs as well as resources for its members and future members. For sure you know how important training is, especially if you are just starting in this industry. Having good training will not just help you as a distributor, but you can also use that in the future.
Aside from the quality training that Amway Corporation offers, they also have quality resources that you can use while doing business. They have brochures that are not black and white and not a copy of a copy or simply a photocopy. They will provide you with new and sealed brochures, so you can easily let people choose their orders easily and well.
The Amway Pyramid Scheme Final Verdict.
After all the research and verifying pieces of information about Amway Corporation, we are now down to our final verdict. First of all, I want to be honest that I was really amazed at how Amway was able to sustain its success for more than 50 years and counting. In our generation today, I can only count those who have been in the MLM business for more than 50 years.
Amway a dream or scheme?
I can say that Amway is not a scam or a pyramid scheme. They really offer proven effective products for some people who have used it. They have proven records of how legitimate they are. Maybe people think that they are a pyramid scheme because of some complaints they have and be with some issues about their products.
I can still recommend Amway, especially if you have experience doing sales and promoting products.
